In January the children paired up with The Bowes Museum to take part in the StartFund Project. They were asked to design and create a square for a quilt based on our local landscape.
Now, here in March, the quilt is finally ready and will be shown in the museum entrance until the end of the month. To celebrate the fantastic work done by all the children involved, the museum is holding a family event on the 5th March (11:00-14:00) and also giving a free family pass to all of the children involved (these have been sent home with the children).
Today the children had a chance to view the quilt they had designed and created. It took 3 days to sew together and holds over 300 patchwork squares, which I’m sure you’ll agree sounds like no mean feat.
