Ramshaw Primary School World Cup Project
KS2 Children, who had not attended the Lockerbie Manor residential visit, took part in a 3 day project that centred around the World Cup.
They researched the four countries that the England team had played (Tunisia, Belgium, Columbia and Panama) looking at various aspects of the football team and the country.
A new home and away kit was designed for each team.
The children worked in groups, using their maths skills, to solve The Mystery of the Missing Football Cup.
An afternoon of football skills games and drills were enjoyed by the children, all of them becoming excellent at controlling the ball with their feet.
Following their research, they presented their information using a powerpoint presentation, to the rest of the class.
Foods, that they had discovered were eaten or from the country they researched, were tried in a food tasting session. These included tropical kebabs, koftas and cous cous, Belgian chocolate and waffles as well as coconut biscuits.
Finally, as one of the teams was from South America, the children were introduced to salsa dancing and spent some time learning the steps and dancing to Latin American music.
