Classes 2 and 3 visited Bowes Museum, to work with an author and an artist, focusing on Dementia. In their first session, they worked with author Jessica Shepherd. In this workshop, they were able to read her children’s story Grandma (told in the words of a little boy, speaking about his time spent with his Grandma who has Dementia). They also looked at an exhibition by artist, Mark Clark, which was created in memory to his Mother who had Dementia. In this session, the children sketched their favourite piece from the exhibition to be used in the printing the following week.
The prints the children create will be placed on a shelf (in ode to artist Mark Clark) and displayed in the school.
