Safer Internet Day 2018

February 6, 2018 by admin

Miss Shotton & the E-Cadets performed a fabulous play for the whole school today to get us all thinking about E-Safety. The E-Cadets wrote and performed several scenarios and the children had to respond to each one – if they thought it was good practice or not. Thanks very much indeed to everyone involved for such a thoughtful assembly.

Hedge-a-licious..!

February 6, 2018 by admin

Fabulous work from Henry, Lily, Riley and Jessica in planting some new hawthorn hedges around our school field. Liz Garrett, one of our brilliant Governors and supermum Coleen showed us exactly what we needed to do. It’s going to be very exciting watching them grow in Spring.

Plastic Free Schools Group

January 30, 2018 by admin

High excitement in Ramshaw today!

Ethan, Lente, Liam, Emily, Grace and Rhiannon have already written to the Prime Minister to question whether or not the Government’s 25 year plan is rather taking its time in making real changes.

No response as yet, but our resource pack from Plastic Free Schools has arrived today and it’s very useful.

We’ve already signed a petition to introduce a Deposit Return System on plastic bottles and other single use drinks containers. The Group is now ready to start their work on reducing single use plastics in our school.

As you can see; they’re serious about it….

Electro City Builders

December 21, 2017 by admin

On Wednesday we were joined by Stephen from ‘Creative Builders’, who put out architectural skills to the test by asking us to build a city made of Lego bricks. We then had to construct circuits to light our city up. The children had a great day and really showed off their creative talents as we’re sure you’ll see from the pictures.

Today we all wore our best festive knitwear in aid of Save the Children’s ‘Christmas Jumper Day 2017’. We made the world better with a sweater and raised £65 to send to the charity.  A huge thank you for all of your donations, I’m sure you would agree that we all looked fabulous…

Big First Aid Lesson!

November 6, 2017 by admin

On Friday KS2 took part in the St John Ambulance’s ‘Big First Aid Lesson’. Themed around the familiar scenario of attending a Fireworks Night event, with a ‘Vlog’ presentation style, students observed real-life first aid situations as well as demonstrations of relevant first aid techniques, including important bonfire night safety tips. Pupils covered a whole host of topics  including who, what and how to call in an emergency, and dealing with  choking and burns.

As a new feature, Gooseberry Parent now allows parents to see how their child is reacting within the game.
