Didn’t we all look fabulous last Friday wearing the costumes of our favourite characters to celebrate World Book Day?!
Running Wild
Congratulations to the cross country team who braved the freezing temperatures and the muddy track to run for the school. Two of the team will be running again next Friday the county finals.

A Stitching Success
In January the children paired up with The Bowes Museum to take part in the StartFund Project. They were asked to design and create a square for a quilt based on our local landscape.
Now, here in March, the quilt is finally ready and will be shown in the museum entrance until the end of the month. To celebrate the fantastic work done by all the children involved, the museum is holding a family event on the 5th March (11:00-14:00) and also giving a free family pass to all of the children involved (these have been sent home with the children).
Today the children had a chance to view the quilt they had designed and created. It took 3 days to sew together and holds over 300 patchwork squares, which I’m sure you’ll agree sounds like no mean feat.
World Book Day 2016
This year, Ramshaw Primary School will be celebrating World Book Day on Friday 4th March.
We’ll be celebrating by hearing extracts from our favourite books, bringing in and sharing our favourite books and dressing up as our favourite characters.
If you’re stuck for inspiration and indeed, spare cash, then we’ve put a link to possible dressing up ideas here.
Also this year, we thought that we’d also do a Big Book Swap. Children can bring in any books that they’ve no further use for and then see if they can find a partner book to swap it with. Remember Noel Edmond’s Swap Shop? No, us neither.
Valentines Day
Today the children came to school looking absolutely fabulous in red,to celebrate Valentines Day. They also enjoyed a special Valentines lunch. Thank you to all that donated.
Safer Internet Day 2016 – Instagram
E-Safety – Instagram
Instagram is an incredibly popular app and service amongst smartphone users in general and school-age children in particular. It does need to be used with some care, however. The advice we tend to give students is as follows:
Check your privacy settings: MOST USERS should keep their posts private. Remember that this affects other users – if your posts are not private, their pictures can become public when you like them. This upsets people.
DON’T put your snapchat/kik/usernames on your public Instagram profile. This is asking for trouble.
