Premium Allocations

Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium was introduced so that individual schools were allocated funding for children from low-income families who were eligible for free school meals, looked after children and those from families with parents in the Armed Forces.

The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) will allocate PPG to schools and local authorities (who must allocate for each FTE pupil on the October 2024 school census, at each school they maintain) the following amounts for the financial year 2024-2025:

  • £1,480 per pupil for each Ever 6 FSM FTE pupil aged 4 and over in year groups reception to year 6, except where the pupil is allocated the LAC or post-LAC premium
  • £1050 per pupil for each Ever 6 FSM FTE in year groups 7 to 11, except where the pupil is allocated the LAC or post-LAC Premium
  • £2,570 per pupil for each post-LAC in year groups reception to year 11
  • £310 for each pupil aged 4 and over in year groups reception to year 11 who is either Ever 6 service child FTE or in receipt of pensions under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) and the War Pensions Scheme (WPS)

For pupils recorded aged 5 and over on the school census, PPG will be allocated on the basis of sole and dual main registrations only.

Covid-19 Catch Up Premium

Catch-up Premium 2020-2021

Children and young people across the country have experienced unprecedented disruption to their education as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19). Those from the most vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds will be among those hardest hit. Each school has been allocated catch-up premium for the 2020 to 2021 academic year.

In line with the guidance on curriculum expectations for the next academic year schools must use the additional funding to support pupils in the best way for their individual cohorts to make up for lost teaching time.

Sports Premium

The Government provides funding to improve provision of Physical Education and Sport in primary schools in England. This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary school headteachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. The sport funding can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools.

Ramshaw Primary School believes strongly that in order to make this funding sustainable, a significant proportion of the funding should be committed to staff training and development. You can view or download our Sports Premium allocation and find out how this has been used at our school.
